Zumba® classes create a party-like atmosphere that is great for the mind, body, and soul. The Zumba® program is a dance fitness program based on Latin and international music and dance movements. Previous dance experience is not necessary. There is a focus of bringing rhythms together, creating a fusion of music. Rhythms include Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Bachata and more. I have designed medium intensity and low impact Zumba® dance fitness classes that are gender neutral and easier on the hips and knees.

Participants should wear comfortable, activewear clothing that is not restrictive and allows cooling for appropriate thermoregulation of the body. Bring water to drink and stay hydrated. Zumba Fitness recommends that you wear cross training or aerobic style shoes that provide cushion and medial lateral support needed for side-to-side movements. Such shoes also have low traction rubber for easy sliding and turning. Please be careful with running shoes because they usually have a heavy tread on the bottom and are designed for forward movement. Please make sure your shoes are clean and dry with a non-marking rubber sole.
